TRE – Tension & Trauma Release Exercises
What is TRE?
We all experience stress. When stress is overwhelming it gets stored in the body as a trauma-response. Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), developed by David Bercelli, shows how to release this stress slowly, gradually and safely to regain balance and experience more peace in our bodies and minds.
TRE focuses on fatiguing the main muscles involved in the stress response ‘fight-flight-freeze’, including the psoas muscle. By fatiguing these muscles we are able to awaken a neurogenic tremor that discharges the stuck trauma. These traumas are held in the body and can be released from the body directly. We do not need to stimulate any memories or feelings in realtionship to the stressor in order to release it.
Through these muscles we are able to release our stuck trauma response to physical, emotional, and mental stresses encountered in life.

What are the benefits of TRE?
Many find the benefits from the first session :

Better sleep & relaxation.

Less stress & anxiety.

More peace & resilience.

Less aches & pains in body.

Body awareness & boundaries.

Self-care & self-regulation.
ALL HUMAN HAVE AN INNATE CAPACITY TO HEAL FROM TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE
If you experience hypersensitivity or have physical or emotional trauma, TRE sessions may be for you.
TRE discharges stress stuck in our body reducing our overwhelm without re-stimulating thoughts, feelings or memories.
Once your body releases stress and tension, it stops being stuck in a high-alert ‘fight & flight’ and you can experience balance and improved mental, emotional and physical wellness.
TRE work can stand alone as a powerful physical therapy, or can accompany an internal relational healing & integration with Internal Family System (IFS).
